I found Christian Patterson on 1000 words where you can read an essay about his photographic series Bottom Of The Lake by Lisa Sutcliffe.
Christian Patterson says Bottom of the Lake “weaves together visual threads related to his personal history and the town’s history, geography, climate and culture”. It is this idea that links in with my own project. The work is presented in book form with large images on both pages and double spreads. Throughout Patterson sticks to a consistent colour palette of blues that compliment the clean white pages, There is a sense of quietness throughout the book. The limited colours and consistent layout gives way for Patterson to be more experimental with the content. In the space of one book he has successfully merged black and white with colour and mixed media such as the yellow pages excerpt. The photography consists of a variety of subjects from the beach, to wooden closeups and still lifes. This combination starts to depict the town as a whole.
